The greatest standard feature of all Jeep Wranglers is the ability to customize with different Jeep tops based on seasonal changes, and manufacturers certainly know how to maximize this versatility.
But then, Jeep tops are one of those parts that can get a tad confusing due to the number of different options and styles available. Industry manufacturer Bestop alone offers over a dozen options for your Jeep tops, and that's not even considering what you're going to do about doors and windows.
So to make your shopping and customization easier, here's a brief overview of a few of the various styles of Jeep tops:
Hard Tops
Hard tops offer superior insulation and protection, and also give your vehicle the appearance of a standard vehicle or SUV. They give your Jeep a rugged and complete look and feel, and are often equipped with popular vehicle features like power windows, rear window defrosters, and dome lights.
Pros: Tough and rugged protection; heavily insulated for colder weather; packed with great features; available in a single piece model, or a 2-piece model with a removable front section.
Cons: Can sometimes be more difficult to install without a hoist; hard to store without a custom storage cart of some kind.
Standard Soft Tops
Jeep soft tops are where the versatility really kicks in, with a wide availability of soft tops and accompanying Jeep parts. These sleek and stylish Jeep tops offer plush comfort, are easy to install, and sometimes offer inventive features like rollback sunroofs or replaceable skins for customizable color and material.
Pros: Sleek, plush comfort in a variety of fits and materials; easy to install or remove; aftermarket versions equipped with great features like rollback sunroofs, exchangeable skins, and more.
Cons: Not as much insulation in cold weather; road noise more prevalent than with Jeep hard tops.
Halftop-style Soft tops
Halftop-style Jeep tops are designed to encase the cockpit to prevent wind and other elements from entering. Halftops can be achieved in two ways: purchasing a bikini top, windscreen, and deck cover combination, or an all-in-one halftop unit (all-in-one units are only available from Bestop).
Pros: A trimmed-down version of Jeep soft tops; uniquely stylish; features like fold-back sunroofs and zip-down rear windows complete the package; easy to install and remove.
Cons: No space to tote cargo or install rear seats.
In summation
Overall, choosing the right Jeep tops are a matter of personal comfort. Oftentimes, many people will purchase multiple tops and change them out depending on the season. However you decide to customize your Wrangler is up to you.

Get Your Luxury Ride On with a Cadillac
Cadillacs are the premiere luxury vehicle, synonymous with style and class. It is produced by General Motors, and is one of the most sought after luxury cars in the United States. The Escalade features an all-aluminum 6.2 L Vortec V8 with Variable Valve Timing, and produces 403 hp of power and 417 lb of torque. It comes with rear wheel drive, as well as an all-wheel drive. While the ESV is a stretch version of the standard Escalade, with more room at the back, the EXT is a pickup truck and features a "Convert-a-Cab" composite pickup bed.
The EXT, along with the CTS, was featured in The Matrix Reloaded chase scene, which helped boost sales for the company and cement it's standing among the Hollywood elite.
The SRX is a mid-sized crossover utility vehicle, featuring five, as well as six speed automatic transmission. The V8 has a 4.6 L 320 hp engine, and has heated front seats and wood interior trim as standard features. Available options include DVD, sunroof, navigation system, and a foldable third-row seat.

2008 Acura RDX
For those looking for a new crossover vehicle, there are a variety of options out there, such as the Toyota RAV4, the Lincoln MKX, the BMW X3, and even the Land Rover LR2. However, one new crossover vehicle that seems to be stealing all the lime light is the 2008 Acura RDX. This is one great crossover vehicle that has taken the term "crossover" to the next level. So, for those looking for a crossover vehicle with a reasonable price tag and unbeatable performance, the RDX is definitely a vehicle to consider.
One of the big reasons that the 2008 Acura RDX is getting so much attention is because it is the first time that Honda, the parent company of Acura, has produced a turbocharged engine for the a product vehicle. This is definitely big news as Honda takes another step up and gets into the field of turbo charged engines for the very first time ever.
Speaking of the engine, the engine inside the 2008 Acura RDX is a great one. While the engine is only a 2.3 liter engine, it uses the variable flow turbo charger to kick out 240 hp and 260 lb of torque. For even more power, the car comes with a special Sequential SportShift manual feature that has special power shifters that are mounted on the steering wheel. It also sports a great all wheel drive system that keeps it doing great in rain, snow, and even in off road conditions.
Even though the 2008 Acura RDX may not really look like it is built for speed, it can do 0-60 in a not too shabby 7 seconds. Also, the car can pull off the quarter mile in just 15.5 seconds, which is great for a crossover vehicle. With great ABS and EBD brakes, you won't have a problem stopping this car either. Other great safety features in the vehicle include front driver and passenger airbags and there are side curtain air bags included with the vehicle as well.
If you are looking for technology as well as performance, this car definitely boasts a great technology package, even though you'll pay an extra $3500 for it. When you spring for the extra technology package you'll get a great surround sound stereo system, a GPS navigation system, and Bluetooth wireless telephone, a great climate control system, traffic updates, a rearview camera, and more.
The inside of the 2008 Acura RDX is definitely not a disappointment either. It comes standard with leather seats and leather trim in the interior. The front seats are heated as well, for a comfortable ride. You also get a power moonroof, Xenon headlights, satellite radio, and allow wheels standard as well. Even a nice 6 CD changer comes standard with this luxury crossover vehicle.
Since we live in a time where gas prices are soaring, many people will appreciate the fuel mileage that this vehicle gets as well. While it definitely doesn't perform like a small economy car, it does great for a crossover vehicle, getting almost 18 mph around town. This vehicle also comes with a reasonable price tag, unlike many of the other crossover vehicles on the market today. You can get the base vehicle for under $34,000, and for a few more thousand dollars you can get the vehicle fully loaded with all the great extras you want.
You'll find that there is plenty of room in this car, especially for passengers. Plenty of foot room is included, so even those on the tall side will feel comfortable in this vehicle. However, one problem is that there is not quite as much room in the cargo hold as some of the crossover rivals have.
So, if you are looking for a sports car or a car that gets 50 mpg, this is not the vehicle for you. However, for those looking for something between a luxury sedan and a SUV, this is a great choice. You'll get all the great extras in the vehicle as well as a vehicle that does well off road and on road. All of this can be yours for a price that is fairly reasonable as well. So, as you can see, this is definitely a vehicle worth talking about, and you may even find it to be a vehicle worth making your own.

Top 5 Cool Cars For 2008
Every year car enthusiasts and those in need of purchasing a new car look to Popular Mechanics for their take on the hot new models and safety factors. Today's shoppers want sleek designs that are fuel efficient and loaded with options. With gas prices over $3 a gallon, fuel economy is on the top of many minds while others want a trip back into their past.
The Chevy Corvette ZR1 is going to be the dream car of many this fall! The 620-horsepower engine will deliver an incredible punch, while the vehicle is crafted from carbon fiber to keep the weight down. This is not a budget car, it will be priced at a hefty $100,000, but to many collectors it is well worth every penny.
For the second year running, the Chevy Malibu has won the "North American Car of the Year" award. The Malibu is a mid-sized sedan designed and engineered by women. The asking price of $20,000 is reasonable to many and the sleek design and well-designed dashboard is going to make this a crowd pleaser. Acoustic glass blocks out road noise so that the stereo system doesn't have to be cranked up to absurd levels or passengers have to yell to be heard. The instrument panel covers the necessities including low oil, tire pressure, outside temperature, and more. Finally, electronic stability assists the braking system.
In recent years, Hyundai has built a solid reputation for affordable, reliable vehicles. Their new Genesis takes the roominess of an SUV and puts it in the body of a luxury car. At under $30,000, the Genesis comes with a V6 or V8 engine. Also coming out in the fall, the Genesis is going to be heavy competition for the Lexus. With a ten-year, 100,000 miles power train warranty, it's destined to be a success.
The Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid promises the power of a V6 engine while getting an impressive 30 miles to the gallon. In the city where speed limits are lower, drivers will be able to switch the vehicles engines to electric power to conserve fuel. On highways, the engine uses gasoline at a reduced rate of consumption. Drivers are going to love that they can have a fuel-efficient SUV with plenty of room. Priced at $25,000 to start, the Saturn Vue Green Line is a great way to save money on both gas and on the price of a new car.
In late 2008, Toyota releases their new car, the Venza. This five passenger car will only be available in the United States and come with a choice of four or six-cylinder engine. Toyota is rumored to be putting a rearview camera in the Venza eliminating any potential dangers in backing up. There will also be automatic high beams, keyless start, and Bluetooth technology. The aerodynamic design is going to impress because the sunroof covers most of the roof, so both front and rear passengers can look up at the stars. Meanwhile, massive amounts of storage space are going to make this car a dream come true for many.

Nissan reveals the Rogue for 2008
Nissan Motor Corp., a Japanese automobile maker, is proud to present the Rogue for 2008. The new Rogue boasts of "attitude" to compete over the small crossover vehicles from the other Japanese automakers, including the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Mitsubishi Outlander.
According to Nissan Executive Ian Forsyth, explaining the design philosophy of Rogue, "Though people buy small crossover SUVs for their utility, the designers sought to create a vehicle that makes you first consider its power, style and sophistication, with its functionality a little more stealthy - like a high-end designer brief case or bag. All the necessary compartments and storage spaces are there, they just don't scream 'utility' at you."
The 2008 Nissan Rogue considerably possesses the looks of being powerful, but in the sense of a small four-cylinder vehicle. Its engine generates 170 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque, which are more than CR-V and RAV4.
The new Rogue is also more economical over the two rivals, a little on the highway, but a lot in the city. The economy is credited to Rogue's continuously variable transmission (CVT), which is responsible for making the engine sound quite obtrusive. The vehicle is also provided with paddle shifters, used to raise the engine's revs as if it was downshifting with gears.
Inside, the Rogue is driver-oriented, the height-adjustable seat supports long drives and a well-laid-out dashboard is also provided. The steering wheel does not telescope. The rear seat can be folded down 60/40, though barely flat and not level with the rear area. The cargo area was made bigger that anyone could expect from a small CUV. The floor has a clever pop-up cargo organizer underneath. The glovebox, as well as the center console, is huge, designed to provide a lot of storage options.
Nissan is providing the Rogue with available front- and all-wheel drive variations. The system has been electronically connected to the Vehicle Dynamic Control, which allows it to distribute power to the wheels that need it to maintain control. At all times, it starts out in 50/50 front/rear distribution to keep the vehicle ready for low traction.
The 2008 Rogue will be available with S and SL models. The S FWD has a starting price of $24,998. The SL AWD, on the other hand, is priced $34,898, with the Premium, Leather and Tech packages.
Nissan is sure getting into a tough battle this time as the Rogue enters a market already dominated with the likes of the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V (from the maker of Acura vehicles that comes with quality Acura CL floor mats).

When we compare in the first place the SUVs with the domestic cars first there comes a thought that the SUVs are far more than worse with respect to fuel economy. With the advent of better technologies it is not a hard and fast rule that SUVs are bad in the region of fuel economy such is not the case. There are two main types of SUVs which are available in the Market today. Fuel efficient SUVs and Fuel Guzzler SUVs.
Basically SUVs are not meant for Mileage; they are sport cars. They are mainly meant for performance, speed and more speed. Today due to restriction on Carbon emissions and due to increasing competition in the market with the changing trend of people to environmental protection has given birth to Fuel Efficient SUVs. This is a major change which has taken place in the field of SUVs. Still only a few SUVs can meet the fuel standards which are maintained by other vehicles. Many of the SUV models have more weight. Speed and have less fuel efficiency when compared with other cars.
So many companies like Saturn, Ford and Toyota have engineered a golden mid way out of these crises. They have created hybrid SUVs. These cars are called hybrid since they can run on Electricity too. This Hybrid or dual nature of these vehicles is instrumental in increasing their fuel efficiency. Approximately the mileage of these vehicles is approximately twenty six miles per gallon. The best cars in this category belong to the companies like Saturn, Ford and Toyota. They are more useful for towns and cities since they are made for mixed driving. The names of these vehicles according to the companies are as follows:
Saturn Green line, Ford Escape, Lexus RX and even Toyota Highlander these vehicles are the best in this regard. This allows these SUV vehicles to be used by families.
There are three varieties of SUVs they come in market first are the varieties which are built on passenger car basis, second type of SUVs are built on the line of truck chassis and the third and the last type of SUVs are the built on the lines of Rovers. The examples of each of these types of Sport vehicles are as follows: Examples for first type is Toyota Highlander Example for second type is Ford Excursion And the third type consists of Range rover and land rover vehicles.
These models vary in size, weight, utility and mileage. The four cylinder engine is definitely higher on average.
Let us consider the best Mileage SUV Vehicles:
The best fuel mileage SUVs are small in number comparatively but are there in the market. The features of these SUVs are having a four cylinder, and two wheel drive. The examples of these types of SUVs are Toyota RAVA, Saturn Vue, Honda CR-V, Ford escape, Mazda Tribute, and Toyota Highlander. These are the few examples of Fuel efficient SUVs.
Some of the SUVs are worst in fuel Efficiency - - with examples being the Mercedes-Benz G500 and even the land rovers which struggle to crack even fourteen miles per gallon. Most of the SUVs are of this type they also offer less room and comfort.
So you are bound to get different varieties and a range of SUVs in the Market which will be either on par with other vehicles or can be of such caliber that even comparison between them and the other type of Vehicles is not possible. This means that they are not bad but they carved a different Niche for themselves in the market.
